Despite the success of the Telluride, Kia isn’t giving up on their smaller 3-row SUV. For 2024 it returns with sharper looks, newer tech, and stylish “pixel” LED lamps and YES, the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models return, The Kia Sorento has been around for over 20 years and in 2025, the Sorento gets the first-ever Sorento XPro and borrows some styling and tech from its bigger siblings the Telluride and EV9. While we keep waiting for a PHEV Telluride, the Sorento is worth a long look if you want a plug on your next 3-row family hauler.
Kia has just given the Sorento a facelift introducing a bolder and more handsome front facia along with interior upgrades. Upfront we have a tame yet mature look for Kia with new LED lights, a new grille, a new hood and a bumper. The rest of the exterior is largely the same save for the new LED taillights and new wheel options.
Under the hood are 2 engine options, a 2.5L 4-cylinder making 191HP and then a 2.5L turbo making 281HP and 311 lb-ft of torque. Both are paired to an 8-speed gearbox, one an auto and the other a DCT, and AWD is on offer.
Inside is a premium dual 12.3in curved screen setup, 360 camera, 8 USBs, over 16 different driver safety features, and so so much more! You also get retractable sun shades, ventilated seats, a 12-speaker audio system and upgraded leather.
Some new tech includes a fingerprint system, along with more premium materials. For 2024, the Sorento Hybrid and PHEV will keep the pre-facelift design and will get their updates later in 2024 as 2025 models.
