The Mercedes-Benz GLE53 is topping the chat as the Nigerian Supercar Youtuber gives her honest review of the Big Boys SUV and one of Nigeria’s best-selling Mercedes-Benz SUVs.
When the Benz-branded GLE’s 255 and 362 horsepower aren’t enough, the Mercedes-AMG GLE53’s 429 horses are here to cure the power deficit. Along with a sportier chassis setup, the more powerful turbo 3.0-litre inline-six is the primary reason to get the AMG-tuned model. As with its less racy siblings, the GLE53 comes in two body styles: a traditional SUV or a sloped-back SUV coupe.
According to RideWithMiee,
The AMG is part of the second generation of coupes that were born from the fourth generation of midsize SUVs. This beautiful SUV has a very aerodynamic look with wide curves and a 2.4-inch shorter wheelbase. Inside, we have ambient lighting, beautiful leather, supportive seats, heated and ventilated seats, and two 12.3-inch screens—one for the infotainment system with the latest mdux interface and the other for the fully digital gauge cluster. We also get a multifunctional heads-up display, optional voice command features, and packages such as quad-zone climate control and wireless charging. We also get the Acoustic Comfort package to minimise outside noise and the Driver Assistance package for safety features.
The powertrain features a 48-volt mild hybrid system and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, producing 367 horsepower and 767-newton metres of torque, distributed to all four wheels with 4matic drive. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 5.2 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.

It’s primarily a five-seat SUV, though there is an option for a small third-row seat that can be used in a pinch. For 2024, the GLE gets a significant update. Highlights include revised styling, a more luxurious interior, an upgraded infotainment system, and a new plug-in hybrid powertrain option.
