2023 Toyota Rav4 Reviews, Price, Specification, Buying Guide

The Toyota RAV4 is one of the best-selling SUVs in the world, although the accolade doesn’t extend to Nigeria because the SUV isn’t widespread over here. Regardless, the RAV4 deserves its flowers as the best-selling SUV in the world. The Toyota RAV4 is one of the most popular vehicles on the road today, so don’t expect Toyota to start rewriting the formula for its successful compact SUV anytime soon.

That doesn’t mean the 2023 RAV4 will be sitting stagnant on the sidelines while rivals like the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Subaru Forester, and Nissan Rogue have all the fun.

We expect the 2023 RAV4 could be due for a round of minor cosmetic changes, possibly a reworking of the front grille and shape of the headlights and taillights. Again, it’s not going to be a radical difference, though Toyota doesn’t need to do anything extreme to keep the RAV4 at the top of the compact SUV market.

Last year, the RAV4 Hybrid lineup received more rigorous headlights and new wheel designs. The current RAV4 Hybrid features an angular design with deep body lines, a chiselled front end, dual exhaust outlets, and chunky tail lights. Toyota offers the RAV4 Hybrid in a wide range of trims that include the sporty XSE with an available black roof and black wheels, as well as the upscale Limited trim with an extra bit of chrome. We expect the design of the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid to remain the same as the current SUV on sale.

The 2023 Toyota RAV4’s suspension is tuned to strike a good balance between control and softness. The body doesn’t bound or float when you drive over bumps, and small to moderate impacts are absorbed without much drama.

2023 Toyota Rav4 Interior

The interior of the SUV remains top-notch as it didn’t experience any major upgrades from the previous model.

The driving position, roominess, and ease of getting in and out are all good. But the RAV4 would be better if the front passenger seat wasn’t set so high or could be adjusted down on most trims. Only the RAV4 Limited gets a power-adjustable front passenger seat. The driver’s seat and steering wheel have a good range of adjustment, but tall drivers might want a smidge more adjustability. Outward visibility is praiseworthy. The interior also speaks of quiet and comfortable ride quality. Also, the SUV boasts abundant cargo and passenger space.

The audio system and climate system controls are islands unto themselves, and everything else is right where you expect it to be. The only challenge is that the touchscreen is too far away from the driver. The tuning knob, in particular, requires a reach to twist.

The current SUV comes standard with a seven-inch touchscreen, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a USB port, Bluetooth, and six audio speakers. Available features include an eight-inch touchscreen, navigation, four extra USB ports, an 11-speaker audio system, and a wireless charging pad. Hence, it is expected that the 2023 RAV4 includes more upgrades to these already existing features.

2023 Toyota Rav4 Trims

The RAV4 is available in six trim levels: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road and Limited. Front-wheel drive is standard on most of the trim levels, with all-wheel drive offered as an option.

2023 Toyota Rav4 Prices

The prices for this SUV remain unknown at the time of writing this article. However, it is estimated to cost between ₦15,145,000 ( $30,290) to  ₦19,395.000 ($38,790) across all trims.

2023 Toyota Rav4 Safety Features

Enhanced safety features are also set to form a part of the RAV4 range, with both intersection pre-collision safety and emergency steering assist added to the Toyota Safety Sense suite.

2023 Toyota Rav4 Buying Guide

We recommend the 2023 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium trim as the best trim to buy. However, this vehicle is faced with stiff competition from Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson and the like. It must also be noted that the 2023 Toyota RAV4 has a lacklustre acceleration and vague steering so it’s up to you to decide if you still want it or you’ll go for its competition.

Although official information hasn’t been released by the Japanese manufacturers about this automobile, from the information above, it is safe to declare that the 2023 Toyota RAV4 is worth our coins.
