Ford Europe has unveiled the new Tourneo Courier van and this thing is SWEET. It will be offered in gas and full EV powertrains and can be adventurous or more practical for cargo. The Courier is based on the Fiesta platform and is smaller than the compact class Connect.
It will be offered with a 1.0L Turbo 3-cylinder gas engine making 123HP through a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT to the front wheels. The EV version comes with an electric motor making 134HP and can charge from 10-80% in 35min.
The design is boxy and rugged looking in the Active trim with LED lights, a bold face, and sliding side doors. The E-Tourneo gets a covered grill. This Active form gains plastic cladding, 17 alloys, and more.
Inside comes standard with an 8in touchscreen while the EV gets a 12in unit with OTA updates, wireless CarPlay, and more. Inside is a 44%larger trunk than before with up to 5 seats.
There’s a configurable centre console too and it can haul up to 1,543 lbs in EV trim or 2,204 lbs in gas trim.

For those not familiar with Ford’s naming strategy, the Transit moniker is used for LCVs, while the Tourneo is for the equivalent minivans. The Courier is the smallest member of the range, slotting under the compact Connect, the midsize Custom, and the full-size Transit.
Like its predecessor which was introduced in 2014, the second-gen Transit/Tourneo Courier is sharing its underpinnings with the discontinued Fiesta supermini and the Puma B-SUV, albeit in an evolved form that supports both petrol and the newly-introduced fully electric powertrain.
